Seeding delays for L.Alma producers after lots of rain

Some farmers are finished seeding, while others have some done and the organic farmers were waiting for the weeds to grow so they haven't gotten started yet.

Clare and Ida Offet traveled to Regina on May 25 where they attended the spring banquet of the Heritage Club at Holy Child Roman Catholic Hall along with Don and Marie Jacobson, Joyce Leier, Betty and Garry Jackson, John and Sheila Hurda and Pat and Sharon Hoffart of Regina and Hjordis and Gordon Olson of Beaubier. There were 114 who attended the banquet. There were draws for baskets and a 50/50.

The Offets were overnighters with Marie and Don Jacobson and after breakfast out they traveled to Moosomin where they visited with Deena Offet, Callie, Jensen, Cael and Tahlaya.

Then they all traveled to Rocanville where they enjoyed a fresh fish supper with Suzanne and Rick Brown.

The Browns had fished that afternoon and Suzanne caught a Jack fish just shy of 11 pounds.

They also had birthday cake and ice cream to celebrate Cael's eighth birthday which was on May 29. The Offets returned home to Weyburn that evening.

George Barsness celebrated his 75th birthday on May 28. Attending the birthday supper were his family Barry and Connie and family, Jeff and Carolyn and family, and Kari and Daren Hallberg and family along with Sue Sargeant, Delores and Duane Larsen and Clare and Ida Offet
Delores and Duane Larsen accompanied Clare and Ida Offet to Regina on May 30th where Ida had a dental appointment.

Elaine Roysum spent from May 2 to 31 at Oxbow with her grandchildren, Olivia and Kaybree Fonstad.
Registration is required if residents are planning to attend the RM centennial celebration. Registrations can be send to Myrna Lohse at the RM office. Events include a free supper and a number of festivities.

Jennifer Stadler, daughter of Bill and Elise Stadler and grand-daughter of Larry and Emily Stadler of Weyburn, convocated from Brandon University on May 31 as a nurse.
