Traffic slowly makes their way through the blowing and drifting snow across Highway 13 just east of Weyburn looking towards the North Weyburn turnoff on Thursday, making a liar of the calendar which indicated this was supposed to be the second day of Spring. The new season is still nowhere in sight in Saskatchewan as many highways in the Weyburn area and throughout many parts of Saskatchewan were closed for several days in the last week, including the TransCanada Highway, Highways 39, 6, 33 and 35 in the southeast with drifting snow on many highways; in addition, there were warnings as Highways reported blowing and drifting snow due to winds that gusted up to 70 km a hour, blowing recently-fallen snow, creating snowdrifts and reducing visibility, and more snow fell on Friday and over the weekend to add to the accumulations. A Highways official said this was some of the worst highway conditions he's seen in close to four decades with the department.
