Weyburn woman pleads guilty

A case that shocked many residents was back in Weyburn Court on March 31. Angela Vermeulen of Weyburn pled guilty to the charge of disposing of the dead body of a child with intent to conceal its birth.

Angela Vermeulen of Weyburn pled guilty to the charge of disposing of the dead body of a child with intent to conceal its birth. A pre-sentence report was ordered to look at several issues, including whether electronic monitoring might be available as part of a conditional sentence. Sentencing submissions are expected to take place on May 27.

Vermeulen is alleged to have placed her infant's body in a garbage bag outside her home on May 18, 2010 before moving it to an industrial garbage bin.
