The Estevan Bruins have made their first transaction on the Dec. 1 deadline day. The club has acquired 2001-born forward Erik Boers from the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for future considerations.

Young hockey players from the Torquay and Alameda areas worked on their skills during on-ice and classroom sessions at a clinic held in Torquay on Nov. 23 and 24. The clinic happened thanks to a grant from the Adam Herold Legacy Foundation.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings have a three-game homestand this weekend. To kick things off the Red Wings hosted the Battleford North Stars Friday night. After 40 minutes of play the North Stars were up 2-0.

The Southeast midget AA GoldWings went winless at the Hailey Wickenheiser Female World Hockey Festival from Nov. 22-24 in Calgary, but it was still a great experience and a chance to come together as a team.

The Oxbow Prairie Horizon School Black Knights senior girls volleyball team has regained their spot at the top of 3A volleyball in the province. The Black Knights captured the provincial title in Assiniboia on Nov. 16, but it was far from easy.

The lone game for the Cougars this past weekend, was Friday night, Nov. 22 in Midale. The Cougars were looking to move up the ranks, wanting to come away with a win.

Triple Seven Chrysler Storm were tossed out of town after jousting with the Rebels, who blew the competition away with a 9-6 victory on Wednesday, November 27 at the Assiniboia Civic Centre Arena.

Six different teams won games in the Big Six Hockey League during the past week. The Redvers Rockets knocked off the Bienfait Coalers 4-1 on Nov. 22. Braden Magotiaux, Jon Naturkach, Francis Audette and Jordon Miller had the Redvers goals.

The Estevan Meter peewee AA Bruins had a loss and a tie on the weekend during games against the Swift Current Broncos at the Power Dodge Ice Centre. The first game was a 9-0 loss on Saturday. Chase Borreson was in goal for the game.
