An Estevan Minor Hockey Association midget house tournament is paying tribute to a dedicated and energetic young hockey player this weekend.

Two Weyburn hockey teams battled on the ice this week in fundraising efforts to make donations to two important causes. The Peewee Legion Wings raised $165 and the Peewee RP Auto Wings raised $190 to donate to Hockey Fights Cancer.

The South East Aaron Well Servicing midget AA Goldwings returned to the ice in league play Nov. 30 and defeated the Parkland Fire 6-0 in Melville.

The Estevan Meter peewee AA Bruins went into Melville and came away with a pair of victories over the Millionaires on the weekend. The first game was a 5-1 victory on Nov. 30.

The Oxbow Black Knights senior girls volleyball team has regained their spot at the top of 3A volleyball in the province. The Black Knights captured the provincial title in Assiniboia on Nov. 16, but it was far from easy.
