Almost 200 young hockey players locked the sticks over the past weekend. The novice hockey tournament had 7-8-year-old players on the ice at Affinity Place and Power Dodge Ice Centre for most of the days on Saturday and Sunday.

Estevan Taekwon-Do Club’s annual tournament, held at the Estevan Comprehensive School on Saturday, had 27 Estevan competitors demonstrating their skills and talents.

Penta Completions Estevan Minor Football had a pretty good season on and off the field in 2019, and it’s looking forward to more of the same next year. The organization held its annual general meeting on Nov. 26 at the Estevan Elks Lodge.

Members of the Estevan Sharks water polo club were in Surrey, B.C. this past weekend with the U16 Team Sask. team to start a new season of the Water Polo Canada National Championship League (NCL).

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings were on a five-game losing streak heading into their home game on Sunday night, when they won by a score of 2-1.

The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs senior girls basketball team had a fantastic start to the season on the weekend, as they took top spot at the Regina O’Neill High School tournament.

The Junior Rebels chased the Silver Foxes back to Regina in a conclusive afternoon match on December 1 at the Civic Centre Arena. The home team finished the Sunday game with an outstanding victory of 14-4 in favour of the Rebels.

Today marks the roster deadline in the CJHL and the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings made a huge move ahead of it.

The Estevan Bruins have made their first transaction on the Dec. 1 deadline day. The club has acquired 2001-born forward Erik Boers from the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for future considerations.

Young hockey players from the Torquay and Alameda areas worked on their skills during on-ice and classroom sessions at a clinic held in Torquay on Nov. 23 and 24. The clinic happened thanks to a grant from the Adam Herold Legacy Foundation.
