The Estevan Sharks water polo club sent three bantam and two cadet teams to tournaments in Regina this past weekend. The cadet girls team competed on Nov. 16 and finished with a 3-1-1 record.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings fell 2-1 to the Broncos tonight in Humboldt. The game started off rough as the Broncos scored twice not even two minutes into the first period.

The 2019 Boxing Provincial Championships will be hosted by the Sooline Boxing Club on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Weyburn Comp’s Eagle gym. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the opening bell for boxing will ring at 7 p.m.

Weyburn’s Team Tracey will be competing at the Club Curling Championships (Nationals) in Leduc, Alta., on November 25-30.The team is comprised of skip Danette Tracey, third Jade Bloor, second Shelby Sidloski and lead Calli Benko.

The Carlyle PureChem Cougars are back on the ice. Their first four games of the year have started them off to a 2-2 record. The Cougars kicked the season off in Bienfait on the Nov. 5.

The two atom female hockey teams in the Estevan Minor Hockey Association impressed during the Schwan Cadillac Cup in Mandan, N.D., on the weekend.

Local youths had a chance to learn professional basics of curling on Sunday. Andrea McEwen, who is a high-performance coach and instructor, had 12 students participating in the Estevan Viterra Youth Clinic at the Power Dodge Curling Centre.

Three Estevan teams won titles at district school volleyball championships on Nov. 12. The Estevan Comprehensive School intermediate boys team won the title on their home court.
