Chad Farr says bringing midget AAA hockey to Estevan has been a dream for people on the Estevan Minor Hockey Association (EMHA) board and in the community for a long time. That dream is now a reality.

Tracey Arnold had an incredible homecoming in Glen Ewen last weekend. Arnold, who hails from the village, was selected earlier this year to be one of three goalies for Team Canada’s women’s sledge hockey team for the 2019-20 season.

The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs intermediate girls volleyball team had a strong finish to the season, and made excellent strides on the court.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles senior girls volleyball team will be hosting the SHSAA Provincial 5A Volleyball Championships on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16. The girls went to Estevan over the weekend where they finished fourth in the regionals.

The Carlyle Cougars hosted the rival Arcola/Kisbey Combines Friday, Nov. 8 at the Carlyle Sports Arena. The rink was very busy, the community having made every effort to see this night would be a special one.

The Estevan Minor Hockey Association has been awarded a male midget AAA hockey team for the 2020-21 season that will represent all of southeast Saskatchewan.

Volleyball district playoffs were hosted by the Weyburn Comp on Tuesday for the intermediate boys and girls teams. The WCS Junior A Boys are district champions.

Weyburn pickleball player Deana Mainil came home with a silver medal, after playing at the Margaritaville USA Pickleball National Championships, an 11-day tournament with 2,493 players registered held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California.
