The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings ended their previous three-game losing streak with a triumphant 4-3 win over the Melville Millionaires Tuesday night. This was the first of four straight games that the Red Wings will play on the road.

The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs football team won the biggest game in the 11-year history of the program, and brought home a title in the process.

It was a successful homecoming for Estevan Bruins forwards Tanner and Tyson Manz Tuesday night, as the Bruins defeated the Notre Dame Hounds 5-4 in a shootout in the Manz twins’ hometown of Southey.

The Estevan Sharks water polo teams had another busy weekend, this time in Regina. The mini Sharks program entered two teams in the tournament. The Hammerheads has a record of 4-0-1, while the Mako Sharks had a 2-1-2 mark.

Two days after their season came to an end by winning the Moose Jaw High School Football League’s Tier 2 title, the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs football team handed out their awards. Hunter Eagles and Jonah Bachorcik were the big winners.

The Estevan Western Star Signature Hotel atom tier 1 Bruins won the C final of their home tournament from Nov. 1-3. Estevan opened the tournament with a 6-6 tie with the Regina Tigers on Nov. 1.

In a news release, the Saskatchewan Jr A Hockey League (SJHL) and the Manitoba Jr A Hockey League (MJHL) have announced the dates for the third Annual MJHL/SJHL Showcase. The Showcase returns January 21 st , welcoming 60 players from each league.

Estevan Bruins goaltender Keenan Rancier has been named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Goaltender of the Month for September and October. Rancier compiled a .933 save percentage and posted a 2.

Over 20 people joined the annual Estevan Open 8 Balls Pool Tournament that was held at the Legion’s Club Room on Nov. 2. A few people came over from Regina, Weyburn and Carlyle and the rest of the players were from Estevan.
