Aaron Turnbull says his latest win in late model racing is the biggest he has had in that class, “by several miles.” Turnbull won the John Seitz Memorial Championship race Saturday night at Rivers City Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D.

After several years of icing highly competitive teams, the Estevan Bruins will be looking to take the final step in the 2019-20 season. The Bruins will open the season Friday night in Weyburn against the Red Wings, and host their home opener Sept.

Estevan’s Austin Daae made it to the main stock car feature race at IMCA Super Nationals in Boone, Iowa on the weekend. Super Nationals brings top dirt track drivers from across the U.S. and Canada together in several different classes.

Adult and youth golfers gathered at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course on Sunday afternoon for the 36th annual Parent-Child Golf Tournament. Forty-nine teams were entered in this year’s tournament.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles senior boys volleyball team placed second in their home tournament held over the weekend, with an 11-3 record in the round robin.

Over the weekend the Weyburn Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings played in the annual Swift Current Wildcats Preseason Tournament and were quite successful! They started the weekend with a 5-1 win over the Pilot Mound Buffalo on Friday.

Weyburn Minor Football held a Minor Football Day on Saturday, September 7, which involved four Minor Football games being played throughout the day.

The Estevan Bruins dropped their two preseason games in North Dakota on the weekend. The first was an 11-3 loss at the Minot Minotauros Friday night. Devon Cyr, Tyler Savage and Jayden Davis had the goals for Estevan.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings finished their preseason games with a home-and-home series against the Notre Dame Hounds. The Red Wings had home ice advantage first on Friday night and beat the Hounds 4-2.
