The Estevan Mermaids synchronized swim club had a couple of purposes for their annual pre-Halloween Spooky Swim on Wednesday night at the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre. The first was that it was a fundraiser for the Estevan Salvation Army’s food bank.

It was a good weekend for the local In Depth Powerlifting Club as they took home “Best Team Award” at the Saskatchewan Powerlifting Association Provincial Championships, held over the weekend in Weyburn at the Knox Hall.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings played a home-and-home series against the Estevan Bruins this weekend before facing the Humboldt Broncos Tuesday night. The Red Wings had home ice advantage first on Friday against the Bruins.

The Estevan Apex midget AA Bruins have now won their first seven games to start the season. The midget AAs won a pair of overtime road games – 2-1 over the Weyburn Wings on Oct. 23 and 3-2 over the Melville Millionaires on Oct.

The Estevan Sharks water polo club had a busy Sunday with seven teams in the water in the first weekend of action for the mini, atom and cadet age groups. The Sharks atom and mini teams travelled to Weyburn.
