The Estevan Comprehensive School (ECS) Elecs football team has won the biggest game in the 11-year history of the program.

The Notre Dame Hounds scored the only goals of the game in the first period in a 3-0 victory over the Estevan Bruins on Friday night at Affinity Place.

In a press release, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) announced that it had renewed its partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to help find the cause and cure of Type 1 Diabetes.

An Estevan bodybuilder won a bronze medal at the Canadian Physique Alliance’s National Pro Qualifier in Toronto on Oct. 19. Chad Kerr competed in the over-40 masters heavyweight division and earned a bronze medal for his showing.

The South East Aaron Well Servicing midget AA Goldwings improved their record in league play to 4-0 with two convincing victories on home ice in Midale on the weekend. The Goldwings crushed the Warman Wildcats 8-1 on Oct.

The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs intermediate boys volleyball team finished second at their home tournament on Oct. 26 and 27.

From October 22 to 24 the Carlyle Sports Arena hosted a hockey instruction school for participating hockey players. The workouts were free for all minor hockey players.

Jayden Davis had a goal and three assists and Keenan Rancier made 39 saves in the Estevan Bruins 5-1 victory over the Humboldt Broncos on Wednesday night at Affinity Place. The win ended a four-game losing streak for the Bruins (5-8-2-1).

The Estevan Mermaids synchronized swim club had a couple of purposes for their annual pre-Halloween Spooky Swim on Wednesday night at the RM of Estevan Aquatic Centre. The first was that it was a fundraiser for the Estevan Salvation Army’s food bank.
