The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins have announced the details for this year’s Sportsman’s Dinner. The event, which is the club’s top fundraiser of the year, will take place April 25 at the Power Dodge Curling Centre.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins placed the finishing touches on their 2018-19 season with their annual awards banquet Wednesday night at the Beefeater Plaza. Graduating players took home the bulk of the awards.

On March 30 and 31 the Saskatchewan Volleyball Association hosted the 15U Women’s Sask. Cup 3 Championship at the University of Regina. In all, 41 teams province wide competed in the tournament.

The Estevan Extreme Thunder 13-and-under volleyball team came home with the gold medal in Tier 2 from the provincial tournament in Warman and Saskatoon on April 6 and 7.

The Emily Haupstein rink of Weyburn took part in the U18 Nationals in Sherwood Park on April 2-7, finishing second in their pool, but losing two close games in the playoffs.

It was big in the 1990s, but in 2019 the Rafferty Rumble is coming back to Estevan with even more attractions. The rumble will be a three-day event, from July 26 to 28.

The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs badminton team hosted some premier athletes during the school’s annual home tournament Saturday. Eight teams entered the tournament, and a total of 64 players competed.

Members of the Estevan Taekwon-do Club were in Toronto March 30 for a meet hosted by master Vito Palella, who is the president of the Global TaeKwon-Do Federation Canada.
