The Estevan Mermaids synchronized swim club competed at the 2019 Sadie Caulder Knight Provincial Stream Championships in Saskatoon on the weekend. Twenty-three local athletes competed at the meet.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins season came to an end Sunday night in a 3-2 loss to the Melfort Mustangs at Affinity Place. Melfort won the best-of-seven Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League semifinal series in six games.

The Tisdale Trojans won the Telus Cup Western Regionals tournament, with contributions from three southeast players. The Trojans defeated the Thunder Bay Kings 6-5 in the regional championship game Sunday in Tisdale.

Weyburn Comp Grade 9 player Emersyn Jordens stepped up to hit the birdie just over the net, during a girls doubles match against Estevan on Saturday at the Cugnet Centre.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins are on the brink of elimination for the second consecutive playoff series. The April 5 game in Melfort saw the Mustangs win 4-1 over the Bruins, leaving the semifinal series at 3-2 for Melfort.

By Dan Archer The Assiniboia Rebels merited their Pee Wee B provincial title on March 23 after a hard-fought game at the Assiniboia Civic Centre, ending with a two-game total-point series win over the Kindersley Klippers.

A couple of Carnduff hockey teams made it to Saskatchewan Hockey Association provincial finals this year. The Carnduff Red Devils men’s team reached the Senior B final against the Wilkie Outlaws, but dropped the best-of-three final in two straight.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins have evened up their Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League series with the Melfort Mustangs. The Bruins beat Melfort 3-2 in Game 3 of the best-of-seven series Tuesday night, and 4-2 in Game 4 the following night.
