Local Timbits initiation hockey players showcased their talents during the first intermission of Saturday night's hockey game between the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins and the Notre Dame Hounds at Affinity Place.

Devan Harrison scored the winning goal 64 seconds into overtime in the Power Dodge Estevan Bruins 4-3 win over the Notre Dame Hounds on Saturday night at Affinity Place.

The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs senior boys basketball team finished second at their annual home tournament on the weekend.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins were shut out 2-0 by the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday night in Wilcox.

The two local atom hockey teams in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League dominated their games this past weekend. The Estevan Bearcats went 3-0, and outscored their opponents 21-5. They defeated the Southwest Cyclones 9-2 and 12-2 on Jan.

The Southeast Junior Roughnecks are looking to bring junior football to Estevan, and give local kids a chance to play football beyond the high school level. Jason Bresciani and Frank DeBruyn are at the helm of the team.

The Big Six Hockey League resumed action after the Christmas break with several games from Jan. 4 to 8. Three games were played Jan. 4. The Kipling-Windthorst Oil Kings went into Carlyle and upset the league-leading Cougars 3-2.

Living Skies Crossfit in Carlyle hosted an Olympic weightlifting clinic ran by Kasandra Kopytko. It was the first of hopefully many events sponsored by the South Sask.
