The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs senior boys basketball won a tournament in Swift Current over the weekend.

Local teams in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League had varying degrees of success in recent games. The Southeast TS&M midget A Goldwings dropped a 2-0 decision to the Prairie Storm Thunder on Jan. 11 in Balgonie.

The South East midget AA Goldwings won both their games last week, defeating the Regina Rebels 5-0 on Jan. 12 and 6-1 Jan. 13 in games between the top two teams in the South Division. Both games were played in Midale.

The standings remain tight as the Big Six Hockey League enters the final weeks of the regular season. The Yellow Grass Wheat Kings moved into top spot in the league with a pair of victories. They defeated the Carnduff Red Devils 4-2 on Jan.

A total of 38 athletes who make up the Weyburn Comprehensive Cheer, Jazz, and Hip Hop teams travelled to Medicine Hat, Alta., on the weekend to attend their first competition of the season. All three teams earned first place in their divisions.
