The roaring game has turned into a doubles game – and that is creating a refreshed interest in curling all over.

Although the Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs won’t be at high school provincials for girls or boys volleyball this year, several schools from the southeast will be trying to win medals this weekend at either provincials or regionals.

The South East midget AA Goldwings hit the road this past weekend and came away with a pair of victories over the Parkland Fire in Melville in Saskatchewan Female Hockey League action. The Goldwings won the first game 4-2 on Nov.

A total of 34 pucks hit the back of the net Friday in Big Six Hockey League games, but the arenas fell silent the rest of the Remembrance Day weekend.

Junior golfer Darien Herlick of Weyburn spent four days in Phoenix, Ariz., at the MJT Boston Pizza National Championship from Nov. 8-11, and ended up in 10 th place for the bantam boys age group.

The Estevan Comprehensive School (ECS) Elecs senior boys and girls volleyball teams came up short this past weekend in their quest to qualify for their respective 5A provincial tournaments.

Lampman’s Nigel Dube has been named the new head coach and general manager of the Lloydminster Bobcats of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Dube, 30, is the 25th head coach in the Bobcats’ history.
