After achieving success locally, an Estevan high school student is on track to continue her softball dream. Morgan Walter committed to the Universty of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. and will continue playing next year at the NCAA Div. II level.

High school provincials from 1A to 4A senior boys volleyball took place over the weekend, with a few schools in the southeast taking to the courts. That included Oxbow and Carnduff, who co-hosted the 3A provincials.

Suffice it to say, but the Oxbow Huskies have had better days than the one they had Sunday. The team lost 15-3 to the host Yellow Grass Wheat Kings in Big Six Hockey League action, one of the most lopsided games in recent memory.

Submitted On Saturday Nov. 24th, Nathen Schmidt of Carlyle competed at the 2018 Huskie Wrestling Open in the 61kg weight class. Nathen finished first place after defeating three opponents by technical superiority.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins ended a four-game losing streak on Wednesday night with a 4-1 victory over the host La Ronge Ice Wolves. Isaiah Thomas gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead with a goal 10:30 into the first period.

The Weyburn Senior Girls basketball team has finished tryouts and travelled to Indian Head for some opening season action over the weekend. The team won all three games, beating Indian Head 62-30, Southey 60-35, and Regina Johnson 83-50.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins dropped a 3-0 decision to the Nipawin Hawks on Tuesday night to open the Bruins final northern road trip of the season.
