The Weyburn Beavers have captured second place in the east division of the Western Major Baseball League. They finished up the regular season with a home game against the Yorkton Cardinals on Sunday evening.

Canadian Wrestling Elite is bringing pro wrestling to Assiniboia on Sunday, August 13. The Winnipeg-based CWE is on a tour of 20 different towns in Canada from July 31 to August 20 with The Nightmare on Elite Street Tour.

Several local trapshooters took aim and claimed provincial championships in Regina recently. Five members were able to stake a claim at the 2017 Saskatchewan Provincial Championship, hosted July 13-16 at the Regina Trap Club.

With the final games of the Saskota Baseball League regular season out of the way, the league playoffs will be getting underway this weekend.

The Southside Slammers U16 girls softball team had a bit of time between their sucess at provincials and their chance to go to nationals.

More than 4,000 athletes and coaches from across the country will head to Winnipeg for the 2017 Canada Summer Games. The Canada Summer Games runs from July 28 to August 13.

The Weyburn Silver Seals will have 24 swimmers competing at the semi-final meet, which will be held in Estevan this week. The top swimmers from semi-finals will advance to provincials, which will be held in Watrous on August 5 to 6.

The Moose Jaw Little League girls softball district All Star Sask Team are heading to the Canadian Championships on July 24-27 taking place in Calgary. The team starts the tournament on July 24 with its first game against Medicine Hat.

The 19 th Annual OTS Oilwomen's Golf Tournament had a little bit of everything this year – including good golf and great friends and colleagues.
