The athletes of Team South East have another reason to be proud of having been in the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games. The team was given additional recognition for their performance this year.

The Western Canada Junior AAA under-21 Championships will bring the best baseball talent from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba to Tom Laing Park. The tournament will be held from August 12 to 14.

Several local athletes competed with Team Southeast in the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games, held in Estevan. In total, Team Southeast won 16 gold, 14 silver and 23 bronze at the Games. They were ranked third place overall.

The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame announced the selection of Laurence Woodard, Weyburn, who will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, Individual Category, Player and Builder.
