Courtney Sandiford, Nicole Laird amd Ashley Bell hold the University small co-ed national championship banner, after competing in the tournament with their University of Saskatchewan team.

The Weyburn Cobra wrestling club hosted their annual Cobra Classic on Saturday. Clubs from Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Esterhazy, Manor, Prince Albert, Regina and other communities gathered at the Cugnet Centre for the event.

Both Brett Jones and Brendon LaBatte were chosen as 2014 Canadian Football League All-Stars, as announced by the league on Thursday morning. The All-Stars were selected by the Football Reporters of Canada and the league’s head coaches.

The Merit Ford Sales Saskatchewan Women's Curling Tour (SWCT) Bonspiel held in Carlyle from Friday, Dec. 5, to Sunday, Dec. 7, saw Penny Barker's team take first place and earn an SWCT provincial berth.

On Dec. 2, the Estevan Bruins held the Estevan Mercury Teddy Bear Toss for the second straight year. The popular Christmastime event sees fans toss teddy bears onto the ice after the home team scores their first goal.

Matt Bill scored the tying goal on a power play with less than 13 minutes to go to give the Estevan Apex Bruins a 3-3 draw against the Weyburn Wings on Friday at Affinity Place.
