The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47 of Weyburn will be hosting the Royal Canadian Legion Provincial Golf Tournament at the Weyburn Golf Course on August 10.

Canadian PGA golfer Graham DeLaet of Weyburn withdrew from the Bridgestone Invitational Tournament on Sunday with the flu, following a rough third round where he posted a six-over par result.

"He looked pretty green on the first tee this morning. I wasn't sure he'd make the whole round," said Brock Simpson, second-place finisher in the annual Woodlawn Classic golf tournament, talking about the winner Anthony Melle.

Practices have begun this week for a new season of minor football in Estevan. Estevan's teams, the atom Sherritt Coal Miners and peewee Century 21 Chargers, are preparing to begin their seasons later this month.

The Weyburn Ladies Golf Club held their 14th annual golf tournament on July 26 and 27 with 81 golfers participating.

With the results from Monday, July 28 in the WMBL, the playoff picture has become a lot clearer. In fact, all four first round series opponents have been determined.

The Weyburn Silver Seals Swim Club hosted the Summer Speed Swimming Provincials on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday July 27 at the Weyburn Leisure Centre. The club brought home 27 medals including 10 gold medals.
