Brendon LaBatte brought 12 of his Saskatchewan Roughriders teammates to the Weyburn Golf Course for the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation charity golf tournament held on July 17.

The Weyburn Bantam AA Beavers will advance to westerns in Swift Current August 15-17 following their provincials win in Muenster over the weekend. The Beavers beat the host Muenster team 6-5 in a tough game.

What began as a day devoted to fun on the fairway for females has quickly evolved into an annual event designed to benefit local concerns and charities.

Graham DeLaet was cut from the Open Championship, which was held at the Royal Liverpool golf course in England on July 17 to 20.

The results they wanted on the field weren't there, but it was still a fun weekend for the Estevan KPC Sluggers. The Sluggers hosted mosquito AAA provincials at Cactus Park, with 10 teams from across the province coming to town to contest the crown.

The Estevan Golden Eels had a strong day on Saturday at the provincial semifinals meet in Assiniboia. The local swim club sent 43 athletes to the meet and had the highest point total of all the clubs in attendance.

Odds are Riley Raynard will never forget what happened Saturday night. The 16-year-old has overcome challenges in order to race a hobby stock at Estevan Motor Speedway, and on Saturday he got his first feature win.

The Southeast Legacy Twins finished off a forgettable regular season on the weekend with a pair of losses. The midget baseball club finished in last place in the nine-team Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League with a record of 5-25.
