The Moose Mountain Snowmobile Club has been active since the 1980s according to the current president, Troy Foster. Through ups and downs of membership they currently have approximately 130 riders associated with their club.

The Cougars Novice 8 and Under Team played two league games this past weekend, winning both. The kids displayed great heart and awesome teamwork, with everyone contributing with hard work and excellent effort.

The game scheduled for January 11 against Kipling was cancelled due to bad weather and road conditions. The game will be re-scheduled. On January 16, the Estevan Tower Wolves travelled to Weyburn. The game ended in a 6-6 tie.

The Estevan Gem Well Bruins spent their weekend at the 2013 George Watson Atom AA Hockey Classic in Regina. The Bruins played five tournament games, posting a 2-3 record. They began with a 7-0 blowout win against the Regina Sabres.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League will have a new look when the puck drops for the 2013-14 season. The league's board of governors voted to move from two conferences to three divisions at the SJHL's mid-season meetings in Melfort on the weekend.

Some members of the Estevan Sharks water polo club attended a water polo camp in Regina on the weekend to hone their skills. Following the end of the camp, the Sharks participated in a bantam tournament on Sunday.

The Estevan Apex Bruins stared down two stiff challenges on the weekend, and they came to play.

On January 24, the Weyburn Curling Club will once again host the world's oldest international curling competition and the Strathcona Cup curlers from Scotland. "They were our guests in 1993 and 2003," said Weyburn's own Harry Plemel.
