The Weyburn Red Wings (9-19-2) continued their up-and-down season (mainly down) over the weekend extending their winless streak to five games. On Dec.

Lashes White and Zachary Giroux bring a rock down the house, during their turn as sweepers during a curling session for St. Michael School. Grade 6 students from the school were at the Weyburn Curling Rink on Wednesday.

On Friday, December 7, the Qmax Wild played the Carlyle Midget team. The Wild won by a score of 6-3. Nick Zerie had an amazing game with one goal and three assists. Their next game was a rematch against Carlyle on Wednesday, December 12 in Arcola.

These past couple of weeks have been very busy for the Novice Team, coached by Jeff Humphries and Larry Rae. The kids have all been steadily improving their game and having a great time doing it.

The Estevan Sharks' atom water polo team emerged from winter provincials in Saskatoon with a silver medal on the weekend. The Sharks posted a 2-1 record in the round-robin to advance to the playoffs.

The Weyburn Red Wings' (9-16-0-1) longest winning streak of the season ended Sunday night in a 4-3 shootout loss to the La Ronge Ice Wolves (12-17-0-3).

After earning their second straight shutout with a win over the Humboldt Broncos, the CanElson Drilling Estevan Bruins blew a chance to beat a tired, fifth-place La Ronge Ice Wolves club on Sunday.

Plans to construct a permanent outdoor rink at Kin Park are starting to gain some steam. The committee formed to plan for the project took a couple of significant steps recently.

Jolly old Saint Nicholas will be visiting the Tom Zandee Sports Arena on Sunday, December 9 during the free public skating event from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m.

The Carlyle Cougars travelled to Whitewood on Saturday, November 24. We played awesome and kept the game close. The Cougars tried their best, but were unable to come up with the win.
