Veterans Week starts on November 5 and culminates on that symbolic day of November 11 for Remembrance Day. Veterans Week has also been proclaimed for the town of Assiniboia, joining towns and cities across the province.

The editor: The Justin Trudeau Government has failed Western Canada yet again, this time through their mismanagement and failure to champion for the Canadian energy industry.

In two months, 2018 is on its way.

The other day, Spencer, 10, showed me something he picked up on the ground. Pulling it out of his jacket pocket, he revealed a little piece of paper – a McDonald’s Monopoly game piece. And I told him to throw it away, right now. On the ground.

Now that November is here, it means that the first big snowfall likely isn’t too far away. It also means the City of Estevan will be approving its snow removal policy for 2017-18, possibly as soon as the next meeting on Nov. 6.

Well it looks as though there will be no NHL players in the Olympics. I remember hearing a little bit about how they make too much money to be leant out to the Olympics where they may be injured, thus coming home and being out of the line-up.

I do not like waiting. I hate having to have patience. I do not like not knowing. Call me a control freak, but I want to fix things and make situations better. Unfortunately, there are lots of events that are out of my control.

What’s a body to believe these days? Between fake news, privacy breaches and rampant social media on the loose, knowing what’s worth believing is sometimes anything but easy to discern.
