I can feel in myself right now a bit of a tipping of the balance… and not in a good way. Many of the conversations I have with other parents right now also suggest that they are dealing with a similar feeling.

The provincial government has backed away from Bill 40, the contentious legislation that would have allowed the government to sell up to 49 per cent of a Crown corporation, allowing the government to avoid a referendum to allow the sale to proceed.

Cheers: Cheers to the new Estevan fire hall, and kudos to city management for investing in this. The building looks great and will be great for the firefighters. Cheers to all of the activities happening in the community this year for Halloween.

You need to have a certain amount of creativity to be a reporter. Your writing skills need to be strong enough to draw people in for a story, and keep their attention until the story’s conclusion.

Democracy usually works well here in Canada, but there are times when it’s messy, and not everyone is happy with the results.

The message seemed to be loud and clear at the Estevan city council meeting on Monday night: rural municipality (RM) of Estevan residents affected by the proposed annexation of land into the city of Estevan have no interest in the plan.

A story, directed to the children present in our church service, was simple but it spoke an important message to my heart. “Do you see someone wearing a purple scarf?” our pastor asked and several little ones pointed to the appropriate person.

So I realized that we already have a Halloween party coming up this week, and as a family we had made zero decisions on costumes as of yet.
