The Editor: As a resident of Estevan I was so proud of my fellow citizens for the great job they all did in hosting the Summer Games.

The Editor: To the people of Estevan: I had the privilege of officiating one of the events during the Saskatchewan Summer Games and came away impressed with how your community worked together to be the host.

“We were a little concerned about the volunteer pick up numbers about four months ago, but that was quickly addressed by the community.

If you heard that comment from anybody in Estevan this past week, you would have had my permission to kick them in the shins. What a fantastic time we had.

Well it was rodeo weekend again in the area with bull riding in Manor and the professional rodeo in Kennedy. So, what does that mean? It’s time to talk about thoughts surrounding rodeos.

By the time you read this editorial, the Saskatchewan Summer Games will be nearing its completion. The efforts of committee members, volunteers, athletes, coaches and officials will have come to fruition.
