I’ve written in the past about tolerance and respect, though I’ve never had the right way to put this before. The other day I was reading through Facebook posts and came across one cartoon.

Halloween is here and with it comes everything that goes into preparing for it. Decorations to be put up, costumes to be made, candy to be bought and don't forget the classic activity, carving the pumpkin. As a kid I loved Halloween.

The morning of November 1, I was on a mission to rid my house of anything Halloween related. First and foremost let's not forget the Pugly pumpkin I carved the week before. It was hard to appreciate the first day let alone a week later.

As I ponder the events of Oct. 22, when a gunman launched an attack on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, I’m wondering about some of the pronouncements that this event has changed Canada forever.
