1927 ~ 2016

Gerry Wyatt, passed away after a brief illness on October 31, 2016 in Regina General Hospital with his loving wife, children, sister and brother by his side.

Aubray Jolene Pulfer of Weyburn, was born at 10:22 p.m. on October 22, 1976 and passed away surrounded by loved ones at the age of 40 on October 27, 2016.

A number of very significant events will be taking place in the next two weeks at the Weyburn Comprehensive School. The first of these is the annual Remembrance Day ceremony that will be held on today, Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the Cugnet Centre.

This is a time of financial restraint for the provincial government, but curiously they came through with their share of funding for Weyburn’s long-awaited infrastructure project, the new water reservoir project worth $15.9 million.

The members of the Prairie Sky Co-operative Association and the Milestone Co-operative Association have voted in favour of amalgamation, after two meetings were held for voting on the proposal.

Weyburn’s Queen’s Bench office and sheriff’s office will be closed as of the new year, but the city’s historic Court House will remain open, and provincial court will continue to be held here.

The Yellow Grass Wheat Kings started their inaugural season in the Big Six Hockey League on Tuesday night. The Wheat Kings were formed after the discontinuation of the Arcola/Kisbey team.

City police were called to a local retail business regarding two shoplifting complaints on Friday. As a result a 19-year-old female was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and will be making a court appearance.
