Weyburn Review

Weyburn Soccer had lots of representation at the FC Regina Cup over the weekend, including the U9 boys, U9/11 girls and U11 boys, U13 boys and girls and a U15 coed team.

The Weyburn Police Service (WPS) announced the hiring of Nicole Robinson as the newest constable for the organization.

The CPKC Holiday Train arrived on time in Weyburn on Sunday evening, with an estimated crowd of over 300 taking in the bright, colourful lights and the live music.

The CPKC Holiday Train is set to roll through southeast Saskatchewan on Sunday, with stops in North Portal, Estevan and Weyburn.

The Grade 2 class at St. Michael School showed off their animal posters for science class on Friday, bringing in their Grade 7 reading buddies to have a look, along with Fr. Valentine Amobi, who stopped by to see the posters. The class spent about a month working on them, and did presentations to their class before inviting other classes to come and see them.

Crocus 80 Theatre staged a short Christmas story, 'The GIft of the Magi', for three performances, on Friday and Saturday, at the Tommy Douglas Centre.

The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, were very active and bright in Saskatchewan skies on Wednesday evening, visible from the Weyburn area as solar storms lit up the atmosphere.

Inclusion Weyburn recognized the City and the Family Place for their role in ensuring all children had the ability to take part in summer programs.
