On August 23, Weyburn Police Service were called to a report of an unconscious male on the walking path behind New City Gardens. The male was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and lodged in cells until he was sober. No charges were laid.

Environment Minister Herb Cox has announced a second free fishing weekend this summer on August 29 and 30, 2015. "Due to the extreme wildfire conditions earlier this summer, we are offering a second free fishing weekend," Cox said.

August land sale brings in $3.0 million in revenue

The August sale of petroleum and natural gas rights raised $3.0 million in revenue for the province, at an average price of $306 per hectare. After four sales in 2015, land sale revenues total $35.7 million.
