Weyburn Review

The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club had its annual summer social on June 23 with a dinner followed by bridge held at the Wheatland Senior Centre. There were eight tables and the evening was for the Club Championship.

The Weyburn and District Chamber of Commerce has reviewed the Government of Canada's new overhaul of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program and is disappointed at the lack of respect the new program shows for business.

Grade 8 students from the Weyburn Junior High get muddy, as they compete in a sponge relay during the annual activity day, held at the school on June 23. Classrooms from each grade compete in different events throughout the day.

Weyburn Police Service is investigating an accident at the intersection of Government Road and Highway 39 on June 22. Police say an eastbound vehicle and a southbound vehicle collided in the intersection.

Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield will host the Lieutenant Governor's Garden Party on July 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Government House in Regina.

New traffic laws take effect in the province on June 27, just in time for the Canada Day long weekend. "Collisions typically increase during the summer months, especially around long weekends," said Minister responsible for SGI Don McMorris.
