The sun rises behind the smoke stack of the Soo Line Historical Museum on Friday morning, casting golden rays into the -34 degree Celsius sky. Weyburn resident Ryan Repko said he snapped this photo saying it reminded him of a candle wick.

Public Library AGM

The Weyburn Public Library Annual General Meeting will be held Tuesday March 4 at 7 p.m. in the library. Dianne Sander, board chair will present her report, along with the secretary report by Librarian Kam Teo and the financial report.

The South East wrestling team came away from the Saskatchewan Winter Games with a bronze medal in the mixed team competition. The wrestling team included nine members of the Weyburn Cobra Wrestling Club.

Weyburn City Council has deemed the trial period of the Brown Crescent wind turbine to be over and decided to disallow wind turbines at residential locations within Weyburn city limits at their regular meeting February 24.

Team Southeast hockey team wins silver

The men's hockey team for Team Southeast won silver at the 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games. The team was undefeated throughout the round robin play, and lost only once, 8-5 against Parkland Valley in the gold medal match to finish with a silver medal.
