The Weyburn Review has been nominated for five awards in the annual Better Newspapers Competition put on by the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association. Among the nominations are two in the General Excellence category.

May Irene Smith, late of Weyburn passed away February 15, 2013, at the age of 98 years. May was predeceased by her parents: Frank and Mary Wiggins; husband, Dan; infant daughter, Donna Aileen; four brothers and one sister.

The Weyburn Comp has set the dates for the spring musical drama; they will be staging the Tony-award winning musical "Urinetown" on May 5, 8, 9, and 11 at the Cafetorium.
