Most current members of Weyburn's city council will be running in this fall's municipal election, with both experienced and newer councillors running again, plus one new candidate announced so far.

Margaret Isabel Chartrand (nee Stein) was born on the family farm at Yellow Grass on March 31, 1926. She was the third child of 11 born to Milt and Julia Stein. She passed away peacefully on August 26, 2012.

Alvin Schindel, late of Weyburn passed away on Sunday, August 19 at the age of 68. He is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Phyllis Schindel.

The annual general meeting for Crocus 80 Theatre will be held at the Tommy Douglas Centre on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. "This past year has been a busy one for Crocus 80 Theatre," said Connie Nightingale, president of Crocus 80 Theatre.
