Weyburn city council decided on a 4-3 vote to implement a levy in support of a new acute-care hospital for Weyburn at the level of $140 a year, at their meeting on Monday night.

Weyburn and area residents who use city-treated water need to get used to boiling water and/or buying bottled water, as the city advised it will be a matter of weeks before the precautionary boil-water advisory is lifted.

The contribution of the Saskatchewan Integrated Library program continued to increase circulation numbers at Weyburn Public Library in 2011. The library's circulation went up .9 per cent in the past year, bringing its total to 144,816.
