The Weyburn Ladies Golf Club held their 10th annual tournament on July 24 and 25 at the Weyburn Golf Course with 101 golfers participating.

Yikes! The Saskatchewan Roughriders' bubble didn't just burst, it exploded Saturday night in Calgary. Henry Burris threw four touchdowns and Joffrey Reynolds ran for another as the Stampeders routed the Riders 40-20 at McMahon Stadium.

Weyburn In Motion is currently participating in a pilot project called "Backpacks In Motion." The backpacks are full of games meant to inspire physical activity including Frisbees, horse shoe sets, badminton racquets and much more.

Several students from Weyburn graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, recently. Desiree Danielle Smith and Michael Aaron Bauche received their Bachelor of Education.

Report from the Weyburn Police Service from the period of July 19 to 25: *On July 25, police attended to complaints of thefts from campers at River Park Campground. Some of the items were recovered. The matter is under investigation.

Long-time Weyburn Humane Society Animal Shelter employee Janna Holtz is leaving the shelter to further her career.

There will be entertainment weaved with heritage at Weyburn's 14th annual Wheat Festival on August 6, 7 and 8. The Wheat Festival will kick-off with a pancake breakfast care of The Family Place at Memorial Park on Friday, August 6 from 8 to 10 a.m.

Traffic issues on Highways 39 and 6 will continue to be under consideration by the Ministry of Highways, even though a twinning project for the highways was not released in the five-year construction plan.
