Artists, craftspersons display works at 'Gifted' winter art market

Around 30 exhibitors filled tables in Weyburn's Cugnet Centre for the "Gifted" Winter Art Market on Saturday, with works ranging from paintings and photographs to quilting, woodworking, stone jewelry, ceramic jewelry, fibre art and pottery, and many other varieties of works besides. The day-long market was presented by the Weyburn Arts Council and the Weyburn Art Gallery.

Weyburn Comp Eagles sr. girls take on Elecs at SHSAA regionals

The Weyburn Comp Eagles senior girls volleyball team took on the Estevan Elecs as the first of four opponents in the SHSAA regionals on Saturday, beating them in the best-of-three sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-14. The Eagles also won their matches over Yorkton and Swift Current, but lost to the Balgonie Greenall Griffins. Both the Eagles and the Griffins ended with the identical 3-1 record.
