Weyburn Review

The Board of Directors on behalf of the staff and members of Prairie Sky Co-operative Association Ltd., provided support to 16 local charitable organizations whose fundraising has been severely impacted by COVID-19, with a donation total of $26,900.

The Provincial State of Emergency has been extended to June 24 for the province of Saskatchewan. While new case numbers remain low, residents are reminded that COVID-19 is still present in Saskatchewan.

There are three new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan to report on June 12, bringing the provincial total to 663. One new case is in the Saskatoon region, one is in the Far North region and one is in the South region.

With Phase 3 of Re-Open Saskatchewan underway, work is taking place to prepare for the next phase of the plan to re-open the provincial economy. A target date for the first part of Phase 4 will be announced early next week.

The City of Weyburn will be allowing the public to utilize city owned parks and playgrounds starting on Friday, June 12. The City has been following the direction of the federal and provincial governments during this pandemic.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) announced Wednesday they will enter phase three of their reopening plan, which includes increasing surgical and imaging volumes starting on Tuesday, June 16.

With the cancellation of this year’s Mayor’s Cleanup, the Weyburn Youth Council is encouraging the community to come together in a different way to tidy-up.

The Salvation Army will be accepting donations of household goods and clothing, starting on Thursday, June 11. The Salvation Army staff are asking that the public not leave donations outside.
