Weyburn Review

Representatives of the Weyburn Co-operative Playschool made a draw for a $4,000 travel voucher and a set of luggage, at the four-year-olds grad ceremony on Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church.

A group of local volunteers, and employees from Prairie Sky Co-op gathered at the Riverwood playground to unveil the sign for the Community Spaces grant that helped pay for the equipment in Riverwood, located on the former Souris Valley grounds.

Panther Drilling Corp. presented the Weyburn Special O Bowling Team with a cheque to help cover the costs for the team's trip to Nationals in Thunder Bay in February. They also gifted them Panther hoodies to wear inbetween games while at the rink.

Carolyn Gaudet of the Prairie Conservation Action Plan watched as Mayor Marcel Roy signed a proclamation to declare June 16-22 as “Native Prairie Appreciation Week”.

The 2019 Track Provincials were held in Moose Jaw on Friday and Saturday for students in Midget, Junior and Senior levels.

The Weyburn Beavers returned to Yorkton on Wednesday to face the Cardinals and came away with a 12-4 win. Tonight they started a three-game home series against the Medicine Hat Mavericks and beat them 4-3. Friday's game wil start at 7:05 p.m.
