A car in the feature final race caught fire during the “Rumble in the Ring” demolition derby on Sunday afternoon, bringing the action to a halt as firefighters quickly put the small fire out.

Two girls hang on tight to the bar as their ride swung them around at the midway on Thursday evening at the Weyburn Fair. The midway was held over four days for this year’s Fair, and began with half-price rides on Thursday.

Weyburn rider Sandy Stewart rode hard around the barrel as she took part in the Ladies Barrel Racing event at the Souris River Rodeo on Friday, during the slack performance in the morning.

City police have received reports of stolen bicycles. Bicycles have also been located whose owners are unknown. Bicycle licences can be purchased at the Weyburn Police Service for $5 for the lifetime of the bicycle.

The Weyburn Therapeutic Animal Park (WTAPark) is currently in a transition phase. Don Sealy has been managing the park for the last 34 years and is looking to retire.

Crocus 80 is looking for interested, enthusiastic and dedicated 6-18 year olds to come out for their Youth Summer Theatre program, as they will put on eight more stage adaptations of Robert Munsch stories.
