Weyburn RCMP, EMS and Fire responded to reports of a collision between a passenger vehicle and a train near the rail yard southeast of Weyburn at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Thursday evening.

Effective at 4 p.m. on Aug. 15, the City of Weyburn is under a fire ban, due to the dry conditions in the city and area. All open burning is prohibited until further notice from the city’s fire chief, Simon Almond.

Combines and swathers have begun the harvest operations in the southeast region, with Sask. Agriculture reporting three per cent of the crop combined and four per cent in swaths for the week ending Aug. 6.

Weyburn police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at a commercial dwelling unit in the early morning hours on Wednesday. Police located the vehicle on the side of the street a short distance away.
