MLA Scott Moe, a leadership candidate for the Sask Party and former Environment minister, made a policy announcement on international trade and exports in Weyburn on Wednesday, using the Souris Valley Industries plant as the backdrop.

Travis Tokarz is on the ice practicing for his last year in Junior Men’s curling. Tokarz started curling at the Weyburn Curling Club with Donette Tracey in the after school program at a young age.

Things are off and running at the Weyburn Comprehensive School with football, cross-country, volleyball and soccer underway. At the present time, there are 10 teams operating with players from Grades 8 to 12 plus a number of Grade 7 teams.

A Change of Command ceremony was held for the Weyburn 2302 Army Cadet Corps on Sept. 12, as Capt. Connie Hagel stepped down after five years, and Capt. Nick Haines took over.
