The Weyburn Comprehensive School presented their year-end awards for extra-curricular activities, including sports, band and choir groups, in ceremonies held the evening of June 13 in the Cugnet Centre.

A Weyburn business has won first place as a small business in the Mission: Zero awards, presented recently by Safe Saskatchewan.

The Weyburn branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association offered another year of quality programming, with many of their programs having great success as reported in the year-end annual review.

Two Grade 6 students from Assiniboia Park School, Ivy Ling and Rhyder Renner, have their Heritage Fair video projects up for voting in the Young Citizens program, vying with entries from across Canada for the chance to win a trip to Ottawa this fall.

Weyburn city council will be discussing the Queen Street crossing of the CP Rail line next to Highway 39, after another close call occurred at the crossing on June 12, this time involving an 86-year-old woman whose car was clipped by a freight train.

Two new names were inducted into Weyburn’s Walk of Fame, during a special ceremony held in conjunction with the annual Show and Shine on Saturday.
