To the Editor: For several days last week NDP supporters, members, and elected representatives were in mourning and also basking in the glow of publicity surrounding Jack Layton's passing.

The Yorkton Regional High School Raider Gridders opened their season at home to the visiting Miller Marauders at Kinsmen Century Field Saturday. The first half was a grinding, running game which saw the Marauders go ahead 7-0 at halftime.

Local seniors will see the benefits of a recent donation to SIGN (Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbors) in Yorkton. Last Thursday SGEU (Saskatchewan Government Employees Union) Local 1115 donated a new car to be used to transport seniors.
