To the Editor: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) has released its calculations of estimated pension and severance payments paid to the 113 MPs who were either defeated or did not seek re-election in the May 2, 2011 general election.

Runner-up Doug Ottenbreit might not have won the riding, but with his party gaining official opposition status with 102 seats the NDP saw some of the biggest gains this time around.

Monday's election night saw large changes in the rest of the country, but in the Yorkton-Melville riding things stayed the same. Garry Breitkreuz will continue as the Conservative MP for this constituency, garnering 69 per cent of the vote.
