Team Sask flagbearer Luca Veeman will be one of eight Saskatchewan speed skaters taking the ice when competition begins on Tuesday.

Monday morning will mark the first ever karate matches at the Canada Games.

The theme throughout the opening ceremonies was “we are all Islanders!”

Saskatchewan athletes will be competing in 20 sports.

Ty Annand of Nipawin, Taylor Downey of Melfort and Marie Millette of Humboldt are competing in the Canada Winter Games.

Athletes at the Canada Games represent the next generation of national, international, and Olympic and Paralympic champions.
