When I was growing up, Christmas was always an exciting time as I eagerly awaited that moment when we got to open our presents.

Our federal government will soon legalize marijuana. I’m not saying it’s a good thing or bad thing. It is so prevalent in society something had to be done.

Tax policies for the new year and a roofing project for the Canora Civic Centre were among the main discussion points at the recent town council meeting. Town council met for its regular meeting on December 6 at the town office.

The Christmas spirit was shared by all who attended the Keen Age Centre’s annual holiday supper.

Canora students had an opportunity to do their own shopping and purchase gifts for loved ones through a gift exchange. The Recycled Christmas Exchange was held December 8 and 9 at the Canora Junior Elementary School.

The Canora branch of the Crossroads Credit Union continues assisting with community projects by making a donation to the Buchanan Skating Rink.

The Canora Composite School junior girls basketball team was quick to prove itself with huge victories in its first and second games of the season.

Children with special needs and between the ages of five and 11 years from Canora, Kamsack, Davison, Melville and Yorkton attended a Christmas party hosted by the Yorkton SaskTel Pioneers on December 13.

Positive comments were made by many visitors who attended the Santa’s Cause Christmas Market on December 10. Approximately 200 people came to the event held at the Canora Rainbow Hall, according to Candace Doogan, the event organizer.

The generations following mine will not be able to comprehend some of the old adages, as the adages probably won’t relate to anything that they would know. What the heck is he talking about, you wonder. Well, let’s start with money.
