Preparations for the annual SUMA convention and appointments of professionals for 2018 were among the items to concern town council at its regular meeting of January 8.

Rick Kinaschuk and his teammates, sponsored by W.F. Schneider and Son of Benito, were unbeatable in Kamsack January 5, easily winning the Duck Mountain Super League trophy and top prize money of $350.

The Kamsack Recreation Board has nearly $22,000 to work with to provide and enhance the recreation opportunities in the community following the success of the Community Christmas Social held December 16.

Organizers of the annual Old Dog Run received a demonstration last week of the type of equipment the Kamsack Volunteer Fire Department was able to purchase from funds raised at last year’s run.

Two members of the staff of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute were presented with Sea Star awards on December 20 and four others received long-service awards.

It was Time to Sing-A Noel at Westminster Memorial United Church in Kamsack on December 10 when the Kamsack Community Choir presented its annual pre-Christmas concert.

Although now down to about nine regular members, the Heart and Home Quilt Club in Kamsack is pleased that it has been able to donate a total of 40 covers that are being made into Victoria’s Quilts for cancer patients.

The entire 2016-17 staff of Victoria School in Kamsack is the recipient of the Good Spirit School Division’s Sea Star award.

Operating a new catering business in Kamsack, Sarah Burrows was pleased to have been up to the challenge of catering a full-course meal to 170 people each night of the two-nights of the Kamsack Players” annual dinner theatre.
