As a special treat during Crazy Canuck Day at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute on March 29, the school held a Taste of Canada event at noon.

Each of three Norquay groups, the snowmobile club, skating rink and curling rink received about $8,000 from proceeds of the first-ever Miracle Lake Fish ‘n’ Fun Day held on Miracle Lake on March 25.

A total of 33 members of the Royal Canadian Legion, representing seven branches, attended the Legion’s zone rally in Norquay on March 26.

At its meeting of March 22, members of the Norquay and District Chamber of Commerce decided to change the name of the organization “to promote the needs of business and industry and to create the best community in which to live, work and do business.

It was called the Moving Together Symposium, and it was held on March 30 at the Rainbow Hall in Canora.

Terry Dennis, the Canora-Pelly MLA, will have some visitors tomorrow who plan to assemble outside his office in Canora to engage in a “Read-In.

The Glen Becenko rink of Kamsack topped the A event of the Kamsack Mixed Bonspiel which was played March 29 to April 1. Curling with Becenko, skip, were: Mark Warriner, third; Steven Wishnevetski, second, and Kade Wishnevetski, lead.

Three rinks from Manitoba and one from Norquay were the top four teams at the Kamsack Club 55 bonspiel which concluded on March 29. A total of 19 teams each played six six-end games, said Lloyd Thomas, an organizer of the bonspiel.

The skill levels of the seven members of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute Spartan senior boys basketball team grew immensely during the season, said Cory Johnson, the coach.
